Nest House
Starting with “The Time Machine”, the scientific romance novel of H.G.Wells in 1895, the utopic post-human Eloi world captivated the imagination with their unique suspended habitats, just like bird nests hanging on the walls of what was once glorious Manhattan, now just ruins taken over by nature. Inspired from the nest morphology imagined by Simon Wells, great-grandson of the famous English writer, in his 2002 screening of the novel, NEST HOUSE can be brought from fiction to reality, thus shaping a possible future home built in metal and wood. Covering 3 floors, a terrace and a surface of 80 SQM, the nest is clinging on the border of mineral and vegetal,
stability and evanescence, intrusion and fitted harmony.
