50 Shades of Green
Rhythm and Architecture are similar in many ways.
Rhythm has much to do with pattern. Patterns can be found in both music,
through beat and repetition, but can also be found in shapes or structural
elements in architecture.
Texture is also a key concept of architecture and music. Texture in music has to
do with the layering of different sounds and rhythms by different instruments.
Music and architecture can be paralleled in many more ways than one.
Rhythm, texture, harmony, proportion, and dynamics all are tied into the
arts in some way; whether it is through buildings, or songs. Either way, the
overall qualities shared between music and architecture can help inspire each
other.
Like previously stated, what’s green is only getting greener, like The Hulk. All funny stuff aside, in between all that green, people also live and work. It’s the ecologist’s approach to building, a valid option amongst the gray of our cities. It’s healthy, it’s cool, and its what people want. Like avocado on toast.
Sleek sculptural shapes. Perfect proportions. Minimalist white. Like something directly from a rendering software and straight to a design magazine, this approach is every architectural student’s dream. It’s a timeless design that fits all intents and purposes and ages really well. Even if bit unfriendly or unapproachable at first, it can get softer and welcoming once you get to know it. Like a celebrity.
